AOL Issues Reports
Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:
-
Pixisass (@pixisass) reported@DrDaymarcus I did not know that AOL had dial up service until 2025. Sources?
-
Gregorio Naçu (@gregnacu) reported@MuseumCommodore 17 for me. Never used a TAC-2. I am too young to have seen a C64 running in a store. But I have left things like the 10-print maze running on a C64 I found in use at a daycare. I sadly missed QuantumLink. I called the 800 number once, and an AOL rep answered.
-
Kevin S. Davis (@KSD1968) reported@MapQuest Lemme find an AOL CD and file a complaint.
-
attitunes music (@attitunesmusic) reported@JuicySteen there was a strong appetite by some at AOL Time Warner to get them off the air despite being their highest rated show. It would have depended on if they were able to hang on until Spike opened up.
-
GuiDaFunkyMan (@GuiDaFunkyMan) reported@ArcadeHorizons @virtualmage17 No immersion issue for me in the 80s, just 2 different atmospheres and that's it. In my opinion, lots of players hate AoL either because of a group effect (especially when it comes to Y-gen players and beyond) or because they didn't get its basic gameplay mechanics.

StoneHillWealth (@StoneHillWealth) reported@kejca I was an advisor for Merrill Lynch during the dot com bubble. Henry Blodget said, to buy Yahoo, AOL, and AMZN, one was bound to be a winner. So, it depends on which package you bought. Chris is generally right, MOST of those ‘winning’ stocks of that day turned out to be garbage.

𝗝𝗼𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗼 (@joerosato) reported@Dan_Jeffries1 Gates never said this. In the 1990s, Microsoft focused on proprietary online networks (MSN) rather than the 'internet'. Think AOL. The 'internet' was a side product you got by connecting to their proprietary service. Downplaying to be the source of connection = marketing 😐
-
Sakshi (@nt570) reported@ANI bad adverstisement for AOL
-
Horus (@DoxxieDonut) reported@TheDrugMoney This goes back to the limewire/AOL music server debate. Like cable vs Netflix. You just don't know what you want unless you see it in front of you. You may not need everything you lay your eyes on but you'll enjoy ******** out of it
