One thing I can never stop thinking about is that in some developing countries, Facebook _is_ the internet. Facebook have made an AOL on steroids situation there and it’s a scandal

@Stealth40k I love Monster Rancher!!! But I also have reluctance because the charm of it was to use random CDs... My mom's Celine Dion, stupid AOL free trial discs, anything! And they hid something magical. Without that... It's just a (while still fun) monster training game.

@MigTigMusic @joshbobrowsky People used AIM because it was offered with their internet access. Then AOL was slow to get into the broadband game and people needed cross-platform tools. For me, it died through FB and GTalk.

2000 is slightly better than 1999 though, it was bad but they were trying things to turn it around. WCW would have definitely lasted a few more years if it wasnt for the Warner/AOL merger. Eric Bischoff buying WCW is a giant what if? in wrestling history.

@zhusu If $ETH is going to stay relevant it will have to fix its problem with fees. Yes, it was the first platform to really emerge. But so was AOL and dial-up.
