@BadLegalTakes Do we really want Meta writing the VR “bill of rights”? Should we allow Twitter to arbitrarily enforce its TOS when it feels like it? Probably no. But S230 as written effectively allows for this, because it was written when the biggest interactive computer service was AOL!

@Mz_Kat @Christyrose760 @McFeenixx I see quite a few Hotmail accounts I even had one AOL (I never checked to see if it bounced)

  • StflrsHockeyMom Kenzi Vstol (@StflrsHockeyMom) reported

@AOL, it would be wonderful if a technical representative could look into why my email account was deleted out of nowhere, with no warning. I tried to log in tonight, it said you “can’t recover my account”, and now all of my Christmas shopping information is gone. Please help. 🙏🏻

@JeromeTaylor I'd just like to point out that anyone who has proactively labeled themselves as a female has had this problem going all the way back to the BBS/Usenet/AOL chatroom days. Girls got horrifying *** far more than boys; "don't give your A/S/L" was already standard advice in 1993.

  • AshKetchup69420 Mr. Pika (@AshKetchup69420) reported

@CartoonFan18 I'll have to downgrade my internet to dial up and login to my AOL account

  • dereklongstaff Derek Longstaff (@dereklongstaff) reported

I don’t like social media. I know, hypocritical to post this on SM. But search on FB, Twit etc. is awful. Format, organization and content algorithms are ****. SM in 2020s is AOL in the mid-90s. You use it only bc you must.

  • larrywonder Darren (@larrywonder) reported

@hildymac Not sure if AOL/Time Warner secretly agreeing to sell to them instead of David McDavid (then getting sued for $281 million) or the fact that the Spirit group never seemed invested in keeping the hockey team around long-term, and instead used it as an asset to flip was worse

  • WheresWalter69 WheresWalter69 (@WheresWalter69) reported

@EvansvilleIggy @AOL Absolutely mind blowing how terrible he is

  • NebulaDMars8 Dolos (@NebulaDMars8) reported

@conspiracyb0t Kinda never heard of it? I remember when it was when we started using the internet in the 90s like AOL and such

  • 128kbps4 Data Disc (@128kbps4) reported

@IchBinDurstig @RetroNewsNow It's amazing how the AOL/Time Warner merger went from the "worst thing that's ever happened in America" to 🤷 in less than a decade.
