  • Manitcor Manitcor (@Manitcor) reported

@noFungibleNFT AOL, Early MSN, ICP and other networks were poorly made, IRC was wild west. Modern system design mgmt and devops practices' make it easier to both track and block such network/system misuse. Some of these ideas underpin how many chains work.

  • dpouliot Dan Pouliot, Author 🇺🇦 (@dpouliot) reported

@DanielJaye @LisaChristiePhD The viewer may have been correct to perceive an asteroid, then analytic overlay took over the session (called AOL drive), polluting the result with bad data (catastrophe!)

  • PurpleWOrange Not a parody: into Liberals & Commies (@PurpleWOrange) reported

@OccamsBattleaxe I'm old enough to remember that AOL began life as Compuserve, an online service for the Commodore 64

  • happyyouarent Chicken Wing Bill. (@happyyouarent) reported

@cbouzy People who have used message boards in the 80s & AOL forums in the 90s know this... Innovation creates opportunity & weeds out bad UX, irrelevant sites & bad moderation. Take the time to create the best experience for us #PreviousTwitter fans. Patience is a neccessity. No hurry!

  • AngelofLibra Hagiel (@AngelofLibra) reported

@Fizzygrrl @againstgrmrs It feels like an AOL chat room. It feels weird. The crisis numbers, boys girls clubs, etc all that is different. Because personally I rather my child talked to me vs some stranger on the damn internet. So many children get kidnap from the internet.

  • sigflup sigflup (@sigflup) reported

Remember in 1996 when AOL went down for 20 hours and everyone thought it was the whole internet that went down?
