@hmeisler Believe me. I remember. Went to work at AOL in ‘99. Got a load of options. Never in the money after they vested.

@BrunoNiko858 @AlphaSeeker21 Do you want to be right? Or do you want to make money? Basing fees in the L1 is a fundamental flaw, even @VitalikButerin recognizes this, or Eth 2.0 would never have been proposed. Being first, is not always best, just ask netscape, and altavista, and AOL, myspace, etc.

Bad analogy #1: For oldskool devs and techies it feels like the time when everyone is getting onto the internet, playing A/S/L on Yahoo Msger or AOL while you discover earliest forums on Slashdot Now imagine being able to build a 1:1 rapport with CmdrTaco? That's @dhof for you

  • GenuisStabel StabelGenuis (@GenuisStabel) reported

@thexybeatht I thought that LOL meant "loser on-line" until an embarrassingly late year because I went in those stupid AOL chat rooms and people used lol after saying something dumb. My first concert was The Monkees. My avatar is Mr. Ed, lol (pun intented)

  • Traylantha Brenn (@Traylantha) reported

@sillermoon Gotchya. True. Say what you will though... AOL made me tech savvy enough to get office jobs. Probably saved me from a career in food service that way.

  • BlakeleyHPayne Blakeley H. Payne (@BlakeleyHPayne) reported

@crystaljjlee same. I was never an AOL chat user... but gchat.

@rayarose88 Damn. I grew up in the early AOL online experience, and yeah that **** was rampant. I kinda was hoping that it was a little different now. I often wish I could have closer female friends on here but Im slowly realizing most of you are just shell shocked from the ********.

  • pAtty6044pct1 Pat Chance Taylor (@pAtty6044pct1) reported

@KevinlyFather @DineshDSouza Wish you would resign today! And hopefully they won’t be stupid enough to do AOL in her place!

  • StacheTheCache Nick (@StacheTheCache) reported

@AlexiLalas My very first AOL screen name as a little kid was Lalas926. I’ve never regretted it until this day.

  • camarocougar Camaro Cougar (@camarocougar) reported

@Unclekage @gmail Probably because Google make a **** ton of money selling your email address to advertisers. Unfortunately. I like AOL mail. The spam filter is pretty strong. I use google for all the **** I don't want to read ;)

Aes Sedai post AoL are possibly the worst thing to happen to Randland- yes possibly worse than Whitecloaks- and I will die defending this.
