The new generations don’t know how many child predators me and the boys would catch on AOL chat rooms in the late 90s. **** was a hobby. We’d sit there talking to 50 year old dudes and be like “busted mf”. We were doing God’s work for free.

  • k1weber Karl Weber (@k1weber) reported

@BillSimmons Like trying to cancel AOL in 2000. They would not answer the phone or emails.

  • browngottii brody🇩🇴 (@browngottii) reported

@DailyLoud Damn by 2003 you’d think AOL had it on lock, but because yahoo had the webcam i can see why yahoo took over

  • RealTFD Battle Bound! (@RealTFD) reported

@futurexmsmalcom I never used the actual AOL service, just the Instant Messenger, and I had so many AOL IM handles that I could not possibly remember any particular one with any modicum of clarity. I could remember my old ICQ # tho! 9451358.

@retheauditors @Carnage4Life It’s reminiscent of when AOL tied their hardware cap ex to forced ad buys from the Ciscos and Nortels of the world. Targeting ‘c-level execs’ on the AOL service. Tie legitimate business activity to activity intended to mislead investors.

  • timothyjlarkin Timothy Larkin (@timothyjlarkin) reported from Olney, Maryland

@BillSimmons Like trying to cancel AOL back in the day...

  • DisIsDifferent_ Gavin Di Different 🏴‍☠️🇯🇲 (@DisIsDifferent_) reported

@DailyLoud Damn AOL really fell off

  • Sparrow_210 The Sparrow (@Sparrow_210) reported

@ChristophLindi @GeorgeGammon Wrong. Bitcoin is it’s own network. AOL was built on top of tcpip network and eventually competed with other products on the network. The creation of other blockchains with tokens that have issuers lack the decentralization and proof of work that make bitcoin unique.

@wmclean1980 @jimmygiles22 @greg_price11 They can block content and doesn't change Section 230. Zeran v. AOL "Lawsuits seeking to hold a service liable for its exercise of a publisher's traditional editorial functions – such as deciding whether to publish, withdraw, postpone or alter content – are barred"
