    I miss when you could just send an email about a problem with your bill or whatnot. Now they want you to wait to chat with with someone like it's AOL or call and sit on hold for an hour.

    @KerbalNut @ovinophile @fasc1nate I'm old enough to remember when gmail was invite only.. We had a 56k modem as our first internet and I had a AOL email address... Amazon only sold books and Apple never heard of a smart phone.

    Twitter doesn't work as a paid service. The whole point is it was so widespread cause it's free. This is the first step toward it being one. Go look at AOL if you feel it's not possible.

    going back a quarter-century in time and sitting down next to my teenage self as I log on for another wasted evening of arguing with strangers on AOL and explaining that pretty soon, social media will turn the entire internet into AOL
