@AOL Sat night i was signed out and told to sign in again and again. Wouldn't accept password. I was put into a loop: signed in, please sign in, signed in, please sign in, signed in, please sign in. Over and over. Sunday i was looked out for changing my password too many times.

@swodinsky Hard issues we struggled with at AOL when we adopted policy to handle reports such as my friend messaged me about suicide were privacy, ethics, liability, standards, cost of system/people,. When to report, when to support, when to ignore.

@MrBill11 @Rizzmiggiz @SweepTheLeg337 Bad Wolves teams plus NBA was slow and a half court game. Way less of an extreme, but this is why comparing MJ/Bron or any stupid Bill Russell comparison is pointless. It’s like comparing AOL 2.0 to AOL 8.0... and now that I’ve used an AOL analogy, I tap out

@Just_this_time @damienhull Indeed. And former dial-up users that have moved to the "BYO Internet" plan ... actually have trouble understanding that they don't have to fire up the AOL client (like they used to) in order to "get on the Internet". I know people who still think they have to do this. For real.

@0xHyperbart It's forgotten that before AOL and Google very few people used the internet and it had a really bad reputation of scammers and hackers. This changed over time with more users more webpages etc.

@munin They are coasting on fumes of (millions of?) aged users who do not - and will never - understand that AOL != the Internet, or a different email client. They also shove tiny banner ads into absolutely ... every ... single ... dialog box.

@E_Dilla I thought about it the other day, there's a SUBSTANTIAL portion of humans that never got into the AOL chatrooms at all. These are all the same humans that think typed words actually hurt and are real life.
