@no_lying_online @basedball_ AOL Messenger was an instant messenger service for one-on-one chats. It was not a totality of community communication. MySpace was less social media and more a frontpage for yourself to litter with HTML garbage. Facebook would fundamentally change that dynamic.

Im old enough to remember Napster, lime wire, aol dial up, paid phones, beepers, atari, cassette tapes, vcr, type writers, & playing mine sweeper & still dont know wtf i was doing just trying not to click the bomb.
