@thesamparr "AOL officially discontinued its legacy dial-up internet service on September 30, 2025, after more than 30 years." AOL Dialup just stopped, less than a year ago!

@sean_rohacik @FirstNameJ0hn @Sting Definitely no. Turner executives didn't want wrestling on their network. With the Aol/T.W on the horizon, WCW was doomed to fall regardless.

@mysteriouskat I never read books after AOL. Everything I needed to know was on the internet. I literally had zero use for most books and it's not to say they aren't useful, but I just came up at a different time. I've been glued to the computer ever since.

Something I didn't think would happen, happened!! I am exactly 3 years older than Ask Jeeves but I'll forever outlive Ask Jeeves. This sucks as Ask Jeeves was the de facto Google Alternative growing up during the Dial-Up/DSL Era, then AOL, Yahoo, MSN, Bing, and the rest came along. Definitely a bigger loss than Spirit Airlines in my view but it is what it is.

@anvilpw @LewisWetzel5 @themagaking Interesting. I got online in 1990. FSU ran a pilot program, and I bought a modem. 32K, I think. Cost me over $300. That's easily over a thousand now. I signed up for AOL before there was a Yahoo. The service from FSU was subscriber based, and alloted you a certain number of hours a week. Ridiculously low. I don't recall ever consuming all my hours in the beginning. When I got online, there were less than a hundred thousand total civilian users in America, and none anywhere else. There was almost no income form the web, friend. I doubt your assertion.

@YouTubeCreators The most Unfriendly Company towards creators in the history of content making. Just because you're a giant now it does not mean you will remain that way. Remember: AOL, Blockbuster, Sears etc. Bad customer services, AI algorhythms and poor company behavior will eventually catch up.
