    Reminder for later: Never have an event in West Palm Beach, Florida. There seems to be nowhere in this town where cellular coverage or WIFI performance is better than 1999 aol dialup. The convention center might as well not have any Internet.

    **** it, I'm gonna start using the internet the same way I did when I was 16. I just followed a cottagecore ironic lumberjack and someone in a dreadful band on Instagram. Gonna download AOL messenger. Join some message boards. Send mixtapes to people in Sweden. Cool.

    @jack I first heard the line about the "noble purpose" of social media as an AOL employee in the 00s. It was supposed to be a free & open marketplace of ideas. Too bad that concept didnt monetize well enough to satisfy shareholders, giving us the pay-to-play plantation we have today.
