  • notthreal37 SKS (@notthreal37) reported

@RandallHandle Your AOL account went down so you went to Yahoo

  • DevinNunesCat5 Devin Nunes’ Cat 🐈💉 mask up & get a💉please (@DevinNunesCat5) reported

I am not abandoning Twitter, but logic dictates a backup plan. So can anyone school me on Mastadon? What is the good/bad server thing? Last time that mattered I was using aol.?

  • monkeymma_ 🐵MonkeyMMA🐒 (@monkeymma_) reported

If anyone needs me I'll be moving to AOL message boards. I hear that **** is making a comeback. 🙊🙉🙈

  • bexone Misandrosaurus Bex (@bexone) reported

@amaditalks (I am also, however, namesquatting an empty bexone on literally every service that doesn’t require a full wallet name or server nonsense like the fluffy elephant, because **** if I’m letting anyone have the username that’s been mine since AOL Instant Messenger)

  • mainframed767 Soldier of FORTRAN - Mild Dystopian Future Vibes (@mainframed767) reported

Realistically Twitter won't die but it'll likely become like AOL. An advertising behemoth with steady users who will never leave, a subsidiary of some mega corp, slowly dying.

  • ChefArgag Argag the Orc (@ChefArgag) reported

@mr_devilhs Yep, it's a lot of wishful thinking. So long as this place allows porn, its never going to disappear. It might become culturally irrelevant, but yahoo, myspace, aol and many others are still hanging around.

  • DKinMN elo is better than the beatles (@DKinMN) reported

The first livestream concert I ever saw was a Counting Crows show on AOL, I believe lowered by RealPlayer. Audio was bad and poorly encoded, and the video was an extremely pixelated slideshow of one picture per 5 seconds that were about 30 seconds behind.

  • ThatJunkman That Junkman (@ThatJunkman) reported

I use to love that movie The Net but I really doubt it holds up. I haven’t seen since back when it was new and I was really into online stuff and hacker software (that never worked) and using AOHell (not AOL) to phish and get fake accounts. I bet the movie is dumb now

  • richardthouron richard thouron (@richardthouron) reported

@KennethTuran @JamesStewartNYT maybe tied for worst with the time warner/aol debacle.
