I love Apple products and always will but I crack up when a new iOS comes out and they change like the size of the font in the draft folder of your aol email that dates 1995 and earlier and people lose their shit thinking it’s genius will.

I use to write a lot in my teens. I remember firing up Word 97 and typing down my thoughts and saving them all in floppy discs that I got free from AOL 💾 「1.44MB」. I'd just wipe them clean and save 😅. I wish I knew where those discs went. I need to get back into writing. 📝

@DoesItPlay1 @GamersInitiati1 Can't get through to people like that man. This game is a glorified long term rental at this point. Eventually will have enough value as an AOL disc once the game service goes eol

@Bindlestaff @AdamUltraberg @MattBinder To me, when twitter was run by marketers? The marketers controlled the narrative. I do believe if he included customer service which isn't something META or Tik Tok has but something AOL DID have? I think Musk would wipe out competition.

@RespectfulMemes I still use the ID I panic-picked on the day (in 1992) my dad signed up for AOL and said "what username do you want". I was 11, and he'd never subscribed to a service where an account could have more than one user. We'd always shared an account - *lots* of chatroom confusion.

AOL, Yahoo, MSN, Nokia, Blackberry. They all thought they were the first and the market leaders. But then faster better technology caught up and overtook them and left them way behind. It starts off slow and then rapidly speeds up. Maybe #Bitcoin will face a similar outcome.

@FwooshVeeBee Aw, thanks! I hope you have fun with AoL too. Yeah, knowing all about points & exp was, uh, not ingrained in me back then at all. It was still difficult but I found it fun-difficult. Used some rewind & save states at the very end though: maybe just to help with my nerves XD
