@clairecmc I called AOL to cancel my Dad's account after he died. They wanted to know why it was being cancelled, I told them because my Dad, the account holder, had passed away. They then wanted to upgrade him. I said no, he won't need it because he's DEAD. They don't listen, don't care.

@Infosec_Taylor @AlyssaM_InfoSec FWIW, AOL didn't provide internet service until September of 1993 - also known on Usenet as The Eternal September. I was at university then, and things sure... changed. More pointless trivia - January 17th of this year was September 10,000th, 1993

@PrisBlossom @SaraRamirez Problem with that movie is they branded it around specific digital platform that is meaningless to anyone born this century. I can't think of any other film that has done that. I guess at the time it seemed like AOL would be around forever.

Just tried login into my @AOL email and it seems as if Aol took it upon themselves to delete my account. Called customer service and they couldn’t help either. This the only email platform that has done this. Pieces of ****. **** AOL.

@xHarbz @PrimordialAA @mbl267_NFT Probably how primitive technology was back then. Still dialing up for that AOL service and hoping for some free hours to arrive on a CD via the mailbox.
