@USMCNoggin @ravenscimaven I don’t remember my dad using Prodigy, but I do remember when that was a service! I think our first Internet service was AOL (yep, during the free trial CD-ROM days).

@aliciakennedy So I used to hang out in AOL teen forums 2000-ish and there were a lot of NY girls on there and this term got thrown around wildly and as a Japanese person from the suburbs I was so genuinely confused by it. Not sure at what point I figured it out. 🙃

@johnnyo317 @Rookie_425 @mchooyah I am going to assume that SS is Secret Service but who the hell is AOL??? Also, am I to take your word that plenty of officers were injured without documentation?

  • the411forevery1 Belgitamerican (@the411forevery1) reported

@MarshaBlackburn Hey Marsha maybe you can write a bill that will allow AOL to assist in protecting cyber security. That just about as idiot as your idea to have the national guard help out a Private company.

  • AjbLiberty AjbLiberty (@AjbLiberty) reported

@leftyphilosophy @TheLaurenChen This is a troll account right? Right? Those of us in rural areas definitely have internet. My 5Ghz WIFI is about 200 mbps right now. Not half bad. ****, I've had the internet in rural America since the free AOL trial CDs would come in the mail.

  • EmiMelker Emi Melker (@EmiMelker) reported

Why is the WiFi on planes so slow in 2021? Brings me back to days of AOL and dot matrix printers.

  • ioweegian mark 🇺🇸 (@ioweegian) reported

@DaddyFiles @ravenscimaven It wasn't even "the internet" at first - it was AOL. Every service was proprietary & restricted to its own users. Gateways to the actual internet for the general, non-school, non-government, non-business users came later.

  • BrianRookard Brian Rookard (@BrianRookard) reported

@laurenboebert Huh, b/c there's no such thing as an all-in-one copier/fax/scanner for home use? BTW, if she meant that they can't get internet service that's flat out wrong. Dish, Hughes provide satellite service. And, believe it or not, AOL still provides dial up service. Kamala's a moron.
