@Chikie5 I used to work for a number of tech companies as well, started with AOL in tech support (though I wanted to be a member of their client development team) in 1990s.

@tonyposnanski Born in ‘61 (graduated high school ‘79) so on the cusp but I sure don’t remember AOL, cable (we had rabbit ears) Blockbuster (because video wasn’t) and the only video game I remember was Pong. And we ran like hell when the ice cream man rang those bells, no recorded crap then.

Problem I have is a lot of my old accounts were set up with old email addresses that Yahoo or aol etc have deleted now, and when I try to sign in they send a confirmation code to the non existent email address. So it seems I have a load of accounts I can't access.

@Jimi_Stella Heard it on a radio station. I called my brother. We went to a vigil down at the Lincoln Memorial. My bother remembers AOL was trying to stream it… Sad day, but since then we celebrate Jerry Week every year!

I mean cable is basically dead. It's not completely dead but it's closer to having an AOL subscription than it is to having a smartphone with 5G service. ESPN still has the ability to manufacture news cycles, but I feel like other platforms do that just as much nowadays.
