banned. It happened to me over 10 years ago on the old #AOL travel message bds. I simply set up my own website & never involved myself with travel bds again. Some of the bullies became monitors on travel advisor's bds. W/o proper monitoring, sites become the domains of bullies.

@AAStack Network effects are real โ€” but they said the same thing about AOL, Yahoo, and Internet Explorer. Dominance isnโ€™t permanence. VHS won out because it offered what Beta Max couldnโ€™t, 2+ hour record times (sounds familiar)

@StevenHeathen @SadTreachery A rootkit can have malice intent, stupid Sony BMG and AOL 5.0 are examples of companies that were sued for similar situations

Kids today will never know the high-stakes gamble of using an AOL disc to install the internet, only to have a 2-hour download ruined because someone in the house picked up the landline phone

@TheRajGiri There was internal sabotage & money laundering from Time Warner AOL execs to burn WCW down It was a choice...if they were being buried by RAW in the ratings, they could've easily moved them to another night & rebooted TNA has lost way more money than WCW & have been around for over 20 years

@Jooonaathhann @SawyerMerritt @Starlink Well sure. Go ahead and make your point - I suppose there is one to be made. That said, what other CURRENTLY in service airborne WIFI in Starlinks "class" is operational? If you polled people and said you can have the current gruel of a WIFI product and a notional "Amazon" product in 5-10 years or a actually operational fast one now what would they say? I know what at least 60% (educated guess) would prefer. BETTER/NOW is the answer Oh- and where would you prefer to have that conversation? On a old school party line? AOL? Reddit? X IS the town square whether you like it or not - or until Bezos has a better one.

@Reverend_Rivera @mibrardragon The beginning of the IWC actually start around 1995 decades before the birth of AEW. Well, it may not have been as prevalent as it is today, it started during the Monday night wars. Message boards, and AOL and all that old school ****. For this guy to claim that WWE created, the IWC is next level conspiracy theory craziness

@price_dominie @wayofftheres Or the B that takes a team laptop to ANCOC and comes back with aol saved username of โ€œwhitegirlloverโ€ which may or may not have happened in the early 2000s. I was never brave enough to do anything other than wipe and reinstall a computer that a D had.
