Chuck Swanson (@Chuck_Swanson) reported from Audubon, New Jersey@aolmail Please fix the doggone Verizon email app. So tired of having to do my username and password every time I use it. Like twice a day. I’ve complained for months to no avail. Fix. It.

Waltercronjob (@waltercronjob) reportedThe thrill is the return signal. In 1995, in an AOL chat room at 2am, you’d hit enter and within seconds a stranger you’d never meet would respond to something you’d typed. That hadn’t been possible before. New sensation, no word for it. Praise and rage registered the same. The poster wasn’t fishing for validation. The poster was fishing for evidence that the void had heard them. That’s the drug. I’m doing it right now, typing this.

Dee Johns (@MAGA_R_PDFILES) reported@MensHumor I was born 82 and was right on the cusp. I had AOL in the mid 90s, napster in the late 90s then facebook and stuff but I never really did that

👑 Mr D’Arcy (@The_One1001) reported@Demeter_Erinia Damn, I remember those… I had AOL chat & MSN messenger
-
Risto (@RistoTheAristo) reportedIn the early 2000s we had gotten an extremely ****** Gateway computer that my parents snagged from a Rent-A-Center. I'm pretty sure when we got it, it had already been pretty dated, but damn was it awesome playing stuff like Diablo online for the first time with AOL and being disconnected every time someone called the house phone. I miss it but I also do not want to ever experience that **** ever again lmao.

CatoTheElder556 (@CElder556) reported@HeyHeyItsConrad Ha man I remember when AOL stopped charging by the minute and offered an unlimited plan for $20 a month and the service was so busy my modem got nothing but busy signals. And if I said that to kids today, I'd get nothing but confused stares.

six foot squirrel (@squirrlactual) reported@Johnneh_80 @Sixty130Racing I had AOL for like a second, but living in SoCal in the 90's was dope. We had dude's running local ISP services out of like a closet and you could get service for like $10/month. The BBS situation was also off the hook. I had no problem getting games from a random Warez site.
