@AOLSupportHelp all day long I have been unable to access my mail. It keeps giving me the message that "some" functions are unavailable, but no emails will load for me. My grandma has had no trouble using her account, and I used my laptop in two different houses today.

@hey_im_dry Back in the early 2000s and some 2010s I used to have every IM, AOL, MSN, Yahoo, Skype, you name it. I talked to countless people everyday. Nowadays its next to nothing. I'm bad at keeping contact and talking. So any convo I have usually fades away until I end up deleting them.

@misterslaw @notdred Yep you will never stop bad behavior on the internet. Scam/spam emails have been around ever since I had an AOL account.. but we find effective ways to minimize their harm..

@mental_floss Note that this article contains an inaccuracy: Real Genius was not promoted on the Internet but rather via CompuServe which at the time was a self-contained (and very expensive) dialup online service like AOL, GEnie and others. It later became an ISP in the 90s.

I had this issue of Game Players as a kid, but I don't think we had AOL yet. So I'm 99% positive this was the first of many, many, MANY times I'd encounter this sentiment over the years. :V
