@MalwareJake aye, telegram never felt the least bit private or secure to me when i looked at it a few years back, and that was before i knew about the key escrow and plain text comms storage of chats. it even just FELT more like AOL chat rooms than a private way to message ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

AOL Instant Messenger used to stored undecrypted passwords in the registry, so clever malware would grab the password and then try to use it against more valuable accounts (email, banking, etc). Nowadays they just encrypt your **** and demand bitcoin. Very boring.

I have an aunt who was AoL for a solid 30 years, a millionaire by any standard. I have an uncle that was a Parks and Rec director, a board member of his Credit Union, also a millionaire. It is strange, given that my grandparents were blue collar, working poor, but...

@RihardJarc if SNAP can figure out how to deal with Apple privacy issue, FB can surely do it. FB + Insta + WhatsApp...so it is NOT Yahoo or AOL. There are multiple bets there..FB may be down but insta is up, whatsApp is huge but completely non monetised.

@kinkythought i'd only say wilder because it was everyone's first experience with a lot of people at once. same **** was going on then that goes on now. fly outs, meat ups, people getting cool and becoming best friends. scandals. A LOT of scandals. i was on AOL and LJ, i've seen the WORST.

@HouseofFunk99 @DailyCaller you are really an idiot. AOL, and internet compared to transportation. next year there coming out with a transporter like in Star Trek, then EV's will be obsolete.

@comrade_lynx RIGHT?? It pretends to be a forum but it’s really an aol chatroom. The minute your **** is locked behind an invite, I’m iffy

  • Moosader Rachel Wil Singh (@Moosader) reported

Absolutely bugs the **** out of me about how customizable the experience on old messaging devices were and how much more restrictive this **** is now. I miss having categories set in my buddy list on AOL so I could group friends by like .. school / online / best friends.
