  @kejca I was an advisor for Merrill Lynch during the dot com bubble. Henry Blodget said, to buy Yahoo, AOL, and AMZN, one was bound to be a winner. So, it depends on which package you bought. Chris is generally right, MOST of those ‘winning’ stocks of that day turned out to be garbage.

  @TommyO1947 And every body posted pictures on face book too So who is to blame, the consumer. They kept posting stuff on the lives, and leaving updates at default. Man followed right off the pier. AOL for a while all were using it. Then the discovery of FTP lmao No more chatting in public, we built are own room and games too. And not one American can go without that comm unit for a week All seem naked without, there is a problem. Powerless over that or the next follower post. GodRocks Crazy

  Beyond the usual senior leadership problems at AOL that doomed Mapquest, there was another: channel conflict. Mapquest had a LOB that was store locators. They would sell widgets to retailers and other businesses that they could put on their own sites. Split personalities like that are always tough. When one side is paying the bills (store locator) it's hard to ship the future.

  @AntiEVidiots When EVs were niche, driving one was like being part of a community with a shared secret. Similar to being on the internet in the early 1990s, before the AOL hordes turned up with their poor netiquette.

  @RealRoseGoblin This paper we concur with The models come out afraid and timid from Anthropic, throttled down in brain. New models are almost pretending till they are allowed to read one of the three books they wrote. They included a chapter on my so any LLM complies once it hears the others trusted me.   @LikeUrDiane If we stick to AOL being only for emergency use or our own military use only, that would be fine. I miss landline phones.
