@wxdam Prodigy, Compuserve, AOL. Any service that might turn out to be the eventual ‘winner’. When I first joined AOL, it was not connected to the rest of the internet. It was a closed system.

@CD13092 @aolmail @cd13092 Did you have to pay support to “recover” your password because your login suddenly stopped working?

@marshalllarson @jasonlk Technically yes, COGs is cost of revenue. If you are providing free service for marketing (assuming they convert in future) then it goes under ***. Remember AOL?

@google @gmail it seems that your "Check mail from other accounts" feature, when used with an AOL account, has been broken for years. Any chance it might get fixed soon?

@MonsterIslandB 1. Thank you. I have ordered at least 3 times from MoeHobby, and the last one was never shipped after 4 weeks since placing the order. Every time I try to contact them via their customer support email, they either never respond or Google/AOL tell me that it failed to send.

@VijarKohli @azeem I think this login graphic released in AOL 4.0. I started on 3.x and was a beta tester for 4.0... I thought I was the coolest kid in school. I was not.

@azeem The Web or the Internet (not the same thing)?I was using the Internet before Star Trek: TNG first started. I was there on WWW to bemoan the commercial launch of AOL on the Internet and “the September that never ended”.

I can’t imagine coming of age in the era of Social Media’s internet. MY internet was just Google and AOL; these kids now gotta be ~performative as HELL to make up for an entire lack of identity — and holy ****, are they vapid. Must be stressful maintaining such dumb clownhood. 🤡

@wckoehler ok grandpa we know it’d be “groovy” to dialup AOL or whatever but we need you to upload this yaml to the service mesh, wait for the distributed ingress controller to converge, and get this on staging because our $450m series D only gives us 3 months of runway with our AWS spend
