My earliest memory of the internet was going to my cousins house and using the AOL disks to get online and just talk **** to strangers in chat rooms

@karenkho You're putting too much stock in it. You owe no loyalty to this website or brand. This is a tool for communication. Did you feel bad after leaving AOL Instant Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, or MySpace? We only experience the change. We decide our future.

@wjmaggos @lolennui @AOL GenX kid here. I wonder why we aren't all still using those wonderful systems. There was lots of fun stuff on AOL that the WWW never really replicated. I left it because it was too expensive not because I was some brave internet pioneer.

  • AssociatesFirst Burt Convy (@AssociatesFirst) reported

@gtconway3d I used to enjoy AOL chat years ago. Then they decided to charge for the service.

  • SurprisedFace Surprised Face Guy (@SurprisedFace) reported

I remember being in the AOL chatrooms and frequently being contacted by women twice my age when I was in high school so I don't think I can go back there when Twitter shuts down. They'd be like 60 now.

  • AnneHandler Anne Handler (@AnneHandler) reported

@TG22110 I have never seen more poser on Twitter since Elon Sphinx maxed out his credit. It reminds me of the AOL chatroom days.

  • NEmerants99 Nigil Emerants (@NEmerants99) reported

@dluxmaroon @GoAngelo I see Twitter going down like AOL. It's just a matter of time..
