GH HILL (@GHHILL1911) reportedAny 2010 Tech Nostalgia? Working on Privateer. I started this one - at least put it into Google Docs... In 2010. MUCH has changed since this, technology-wise. I mentioned certain Tech Things by name that described those tech things in some detail. The problem is all of that stuff - ALL OF IT - is painfully outdated. AOL. Skype. Blackberry. Hotel Phone Calls. Adobe Flash. Now, I COULD keep all this stuff and keep Privateer a period piece, but I don't think anyone is waxing nostalgic about 2010 Tech Trends.

Annaโs Smile ๐ป (@annaBeauty0) reported19/ Doesnโt that look a little like an AOLโTime Warner merger that never quite made it to the actual merger stage? An old-world giant placing a massive bet on a new-world leader in an attempt to inject new life into its own empire. Does that script sound a little familiar? Of course, history doesnโt simply repeat itself. Microsoft today understands technology far better than Time Warner did back then. And AI may have even greater potential than the internet ever did. The internet bubble eventually burst. But the internet itself survived and went on to fundamentally transform the world. So the real question today isnโt: Does AI have value? Of course it does. The real question is: Can the value of AI actually justify the insane prices, the enormous investments, and the expectations being placed on it today? And if it canโt, what happens when the bubble bursts? The answer may be hidden inside a question that very few people have seriously stopped to calculate: How much money is AI actually burning?

Scott Herring (@ScottHe69960638) reportedI managed to post a few photos in spite of the bad internet (for some reason, X/Twitter works much better than anything associated with Google; here in Gardiner, Google is like that 2004 AOL I was talking about earlier). Here's the view to the east, up the Yellowstone River canyon. The terrain to the right of the river is Yellowstone NP.
