Companies dragging their feet on deplatforming bigoted harassment is deja vu. I worked at AOL when they were slow to act on child porn trading. It took @crimmins testifying to Congress about their negligence to get them to act. Let me tell you what that was like.

  • seismic007 Star Lord Quill II (aka Jeff) (@seismic007) reported from San Antonio, Texas

@seneca It truly pains me to be this cynical. I realize how many of my “problems” didn’t exist until AOL. And have just grown worse since then.

@Martin66633610 As broadband was serviced by phone companies, AT&T et al, started to offered packages to atract new customers about 23/20 years ago. AOL never recover from this disruption. It was a solid, buffet-like medium business for many after that, but nothing more than thay.

  • BradWAdams Brad Adams (@BradWAdams) reported

@AOLSupportHelp It is not a email specific problem. Starting the last month or so, people's MS Outlook, Apple etc. email software, basically 3rd party software that access the AOL server using IMAP were starting to have issues. AOL only allows 10,000 emails to download now to a 3rd party app.

  • NN842 NN842 🟠 (@NN842) reported

@RepScottPerry hahaha bro, you are gullible as ****! "why can't we work with Italian government?" Did you fall for every chain email on AOL, too?

  • huskyjayhawk Steve Boston 🥃 🦈 (@huskyjayhawk) reported

@MeatTC_ It's possible. AOL had nothing, it was merely first. People were ignorant of the lack of tech behind it, and how easily it was replicated and bested. Not sure Coinbase is that, but if Fidelity or Vanguard adds Crypto, it's in trouble.
