Companies dragging their feet on deplatforming bigoted harassment is deja vu. I worked at AOL when they were slow to act on child porn trading. It took @crimmins testifying to Congress about their negligence to get them to act. Let me tell you what that was like.

@MrDane1982 He's alright. Just disappointed he's not a member of the Cincy Big Red Machine, or playing with Yaz, Reggie Jackson NYC, or ensemble to Led Zepp, or w the Stones. Bought stock in MSFT, AAPL, Netscape, AOL, #YouTube #Fortnite Dude you ******* idiot!!#&@*!!!!!"

@seneca It truly pains me to be this cynical. I realize how many of my “problems” didn’t exist until AOL. And have just grown worse since then.

The post-Musk downfall of twitter reminds me a lot of what happened to huffington post. In the early days, it used be this fun, rambunctious, free-wheeling site, but after the AOL acquisition, it was totally gutted and became another boring, buzzfeed-esque pile of garbage.

@Xfinity @XfinitySupport Your website says there is not an outage, but my upload speeds are 0.2 Mbps. I think I had faster service from AOL dialup in 1998.

@character_ai needs to figure its **** out in terms of user capacity. It's been all the tech buzz long enough to know it needs to address this. Seriously, it was easier to log on to AOL in 1993 with my landline than it is to #CharacterAI with my iPhone tonight.

@Olloplays This is the worst haha. Doubly so when like a song samples in the noise or something. The discord noise of today is the AOL/AIM noise in Hellogoodbye's Shimmy Shimmy Quarter Turn of 2004 haha

My dad had some American Greetings E-Card subscription & would send them shits while he was deployed. Me and my brother used to abuse that **** and send Love E-cards to the hoes we talked to in the AOL chat rooms 💀

@AumonierJohn @WalshFreedom I really can’t get over just how ******* dumb of a statement this is. I’ve been using social media since the AOL trial discs came in my gaming magazines, so I’ve read a lot of stupid comments, but this is hands down the absolute dumbest, most asinine comment I have ever read.
