  @lili_poobear @Phantom_King_99 @gizalovespizza Ok, look, you can probably find a half dozen slightly different definitions of the word "evolve" online (we both know you didn't use a dead-tree dictionary). But the fact remains, to not evolve is to stagnate. Even the definition you gave, if converted the boolean opposite, would say, "to NOT develop gradually, especially from a simple to a more complex form", and you could then argue that OP wants it to get more complex, but RAPIDLY rather than SLOWLY. The point is technology should always advance. Just because you're unhappy with some specific implementation of technology in the present, doesn't mean that "advance" will mean "things get worse". It's pretty childish to take that position, in fact. I mean, for ****'s sake, you're ON THE INTERNET right now, probably using either wireless broadband, or wired broadband access to post this message. Can you imagine sitting in at your computer desk, with the monitor riser and built-in CD-ROM storage slots, dialing into AOL in about 1996 and saying, "GAH! I don't want technology to evolve any more. I'm tired of sitting here waiting for JPGs of John Stamos to take 40 seconds to load. I'm tired of getting my directions from Mapquest!"

  @Irina_exh I got 18: never had an AOL address or a waterbed but I have used both a carburetor and a manual transmission on the same vehicle.

  Columbia House is stopping their cd mail order service later this year. Just another thing that was around way longer than I thought, like Netflix stopping their dvd mail service only 3 years ago and AOL stopping their dial up internet service just last year.

  @JCA_BelAir @tonybalogna @dave_aldrine Buddy if broadband demand doesn't stay strong, you think SpaceX has a chance? I have dealt with customer service from multiple companies, they are all **** including SpaceX. What new technology? Satellite internet has been around since the 1990s. I had it when AOL was a thing.

  Hey @AOL I was charged for a subscription that wasn't supposed to charge me until the free trial was over. Please help ASAP. I didn't get a free trial when it offered it just took the payment.

  The truth is stranger. Long ago in the 90's there was still magic in the world every time you wanted to get on the internet you had to electrocute one fairy. Just one. Unfortunately disconnects were an issue. Slowly, one connection at a time, we fed all of the magic creatures into the gaping maw of oblivion to power our ICQ chats and AOL instant messengers. At least until Human Energy Update 3.9 Service Pack 2. Now every time you log in you just lose a little bit of your own soul, no fairy deaths required.

  For me, it's more that this person has spoken to me in 10 yrs then acted like I've never been on SM or the Internet before when I've on the Internet since I was 8 yrs in the infancy of AOL chatrooms and all the SM platforms. I'm well aware of how to post and my posts.

  Koalas already sleep 18 to 20 hours a day just to survive on a diet of tough, low-calorie eucalyptus leaves, so during breeding season, when males travel across territory and call repeatedly searching for a mate, that search comes at a real energy cost. If success doesn't come quickly, researchers have observed both males and females essentially cut their losses, males quiet down and stop searching, while females retreat to familiar trees and reduce movement to lower stress and conserve energy. It's less about giving up out of frustration and more about biology forcing a hard limit, koalas run on such a strict energy budget that continuing to search nonstop could actually drain the reserves they need just to stay healthy for the next breeding opportunity. Later in the season, once energy reserves stabilize, males often pick the calls back up again. There's something oddly relatable about an animal whose entire strategy for disappointment is just going back to sleep.
