@HagneSanti @brother_Buddha @MarcelleX It has some history from the AoL not in the books. Is more a culture read. Less encyclopedia. Also, disappointing art. Artist got rushed by contract changes. So I feel bad for them, but still don't like the character art.

This is why I cant hate the roman soldier girl comic cause like how many girls online have been victims of grooming like that at a young age even if some raggedy *** ***** is like "actually we all used aol chat and put poop up our noses" idgaf this sucks infinitely more

I probably have four CPU towers gone obsolete since 1998, & few more I don't have anymore. My first computer was a Packard-Bell Navigator in 1998. Dial-up AOL, slow as Hell. In 2012 I worked at Steve Case's house in McLean. $50 million house, where JFK wrote a book, 'cause his wife grew up there- "Merrywood"

$MU first day of q3 and the market’s already doing splits — dow up, nasdaq down, everyone figuring out what’s next after that insane h1 run - dow hit a fresh intraday high (+28 pts, +0.1%) - s&p flat, nasdaq off ~0.5% — tech stumbles as semis get sold off - micron MU down 9% today but still up 250% ytd — sandisk SNDK crushed 10% after that wild 850% h1 surge - profit-taking much? after 80%+ collective gain in chips this year… yeah, makes sense - bending spoons (aol, vimeo owner) jumps 42% on u.s. ipo debut — random flex - guggenheim upgrades salesforce and servicenow to buy — enterprise life goes on so the laggards are finally getting love while the darlings bleed — what a world. MU SNDK

@SpaceX service is hands down a nerd's dream. At 37 years old, having gone from getting an AOL disk at the Grand Union to 300+ Mbps from space tickles me in a way my wife can’t.

@Annie__Bee Outlook, AOL, Live, Gmail, X, Yahoo -all major co's have been hacked. To regain a hacked acct. try to login, with the last email address you used, you'll have to change the password, have it sent to you, change password.

@AzzaliahC @ICQ Xfire and Skype both opened in 2003, June 2015 and May 2025 accordingly shut down. Where were you then? Or even Google Chat (2005- June 2017). If you cared about actual quality, you would have used AIM since at least 2010 (AOL literally bought ICQ in 1998, same owner!) or use IRC

I was likening it to banning Usenet, BBS'es, forums, all of which I was on before 16 -- and AOL Instant Messenger which was invented after I was older -- but this is true too. Awful mistake. Though if it gets kids reading more again from boredom, that could be one silver lining.

@cmdrexorcist @elliereeves this will make things worst funny thing is AOL had netnanny software since 2000s yet everyone ignored it

SPACEX IS THE FINAL LIQUIDITY EVENT BEFORE IT ALL BREAKS The most overvalued market in 100 years and retail is still buying This pattern has appeared before every major crash in modern history. Not most of them. All of them. Dot-com: internet was real, Nasdaq lost 78% Housing: real estate was real, $8 trillion disappeared AI: technology is real just like the others were The technology being real has never stopped the bubble from bursting Now SpaceX enters at $2.35 trillion, 95% of shares still locked, insider supply hitting the market on a fixed schedule starting in August Every major bubble had one final moment where retail money got pulled into the most exciting trade imaginable right before everything collapsed Dot-com had AOL. Housing had mortgage-backed securities. AI has SpaceX. Same movie. Different cast. Final act. I've called every major top and bottom for 15 years, including the $16K bottom and the $126K top both publicly, both before they happened The next call will be even more important I'll post it here publicly like I always do Turn notifications on - if you're not following yet, you'll understand why that was a mistake later
