@chimeracoder Yeah, hi, "old" hacker here. 1995 was after the September that Never Ended. That's not the old 'net. It wasn't hackers asking a/s/l, it was kids from AOL.

  • owillis Oliver Willis (@owillis) reported

@clintisawesome the first time i really got this was the aol/time warner deal. i was like "oh crap, they have billions of dollars and its possible theyre dumber than me"

  • jbgraeber John B. Graeber 🚀 (@jbgraeber) reported

My greatest accomplishment was with those AOL free trial CDs. You know, the ones you used to have to use to get dial up internet. “screech, scratch, bu-**** bu-****.” Every three months I’d call to cancel and they’d give me a 3 month extension. Kept that up for like 3 years.

  • FadeTrades FadeMyTrades (@FadeTrades) reported

@Mayhem4Markets @AllBusinessPump Bad example considering close ended AOL was replaced by the open internet protocol. It isn’t Btc that’s AOL in this comparison.

  • STOPHEATHERTIME STOPHeatherTime 🏳️‍🌈 (@STOPHEATHERTIME) reported

@yesvatore I mean I accidentally had a dude send me nudes over AOL when I was a kid because it was before they cracked down on child predators and parental controls.

  • CindyBevington Cindy Bevington Olmstead (@CindyBevington) reported

@AOLSupportHelp The issue resolved itself after being unable to access for about 8 hours. I saw numerous complaints on the internet of other people having the same issue. Thanks for following up though.
