@genentech I began to notice Dopples of me (those piggy backing onto my AOL payroll, etc.,) who seemed to be getting in trouble for being scum, and giving into blackmail to give away real Ed @eddonegan s DNA. Often this is Obama and Secret Service connected.

@MPleasing72 This is such a narrow view of commerce, "online ****" can mean every single product you'd find in a store. AOL was pretty bad when it was on dial up but it still was groundbreaking and then the tech got better over time.

@quendergeer tech brands are definitely the worst for this, especially with how ephemeral so many of them are. like, imagine a sci-fi novel from the early 00s where AOL has become the world government
