@genentech I began to notice Dopples of me (those piggy backing onto my AOL payroll, etc.,) who seemed to be getting in trouble for being scum, and giving into blackmail to give away real Ed @eddonegan s DNA. Often this is Obama and Secret Service connected.

@ponderer @countmystars I think of Mastodon as a service with many providers. Like email or cell phones. There’s an opportunity for a Mastodon provider to give users an easier experience. Like AOL, Yahoo, and Gmail did for email.

@Rainmaker1973 5! An @AOL ( assuming that's actually America online ) 3 1/2 inch floppy disk from some magazine did the trick. Dad eventually had to cancel his credit card to cancel the subscription. Wonderful memories
