However, my complaint about account recovery not working was wrong. It turns out the recovery address on my dad's account which I thought was mine, was actually my sisters, which I could not tell because it was partially obscured by AOL. 3/6

@NeuralStunner @dosnostalgic It's only been sold twice (initially to aol from 1999-2013 & the new lot have had it since 2014). It has basic streaming playback support but not the streaming service integration which most still using winamp do so because it doesn't have that in it.

@_KarenHao Part of the history of section 230 - look at the case Blumenthal v Drudge. Judge Friedman wrote in 1998 - AOL promoted "Drudge as a new source of unverified instant gossip on AOL. Yet it takes no responsibility for any damage he may cause. "

@zhusu If $ETH is going to stay relevant it will have to fix its problem with fees. Yes, it was the first platform to really emerge. But so was AOL and dial-up.

I didn't do anything immediately because it says someone "attempted" to log into my dad's AOL account. But that's wrong. It wasn't an "attempt." Someone actually DID successfully log into my dad's account. Why ******** does it say "attempt" when that's not what it was? 3/6

@AOLSupportHelp Also, my dad is a premium AOL customer and you still won't talk to me on the phone because I'm not him, despite the fact that I can authenticate myself using one of the recovery email addresses on the account.

Spammers are ruthless these days. Back in my day phishing would get you an AOL login - Not someone’s life savings 🥶
