One of my worst takes of the last decade was that Facebook would end up being (and dying like) AOL as it tried to clone everything and keep people in the garden What I got wrong was I thought users would grow up (and out) of that garden I missed the network lock-in

This is why I have caught candy crush with the mic on, even though I never gave it permissiins. That's why my calls have been intercepted- and no amount of times changed did my verizon pin get fixed. Or why network was lost. But, figure how many devices have yahoo or aol etc.

@PeterSchiff @CNBC Let's take that as a valid metaphor - Bitcoin is more like the Internet, which continued to grow, oblivious to AOL or TW. The Internet didn't give a **** about AOL; Bitcoin doesn't give a **** about Coinbase. You are not getting it, Peter... ngmi

@SantiagoAuFund It’s 2000 all over again... Blockchain, EV will thrive but the prices are just completely nuts... it will happen like Amazon stock for some from $6 to $136 and then back to $6 again and for others like AOL the bubble will just explode and never recover...

TIL wtf splittercore is. I may just be an old man but I don't find it impressive to just add beats to my old AOL dial up connection being established.

@muh_thoughts @CawthornforNC And don’t you remember DS AOL crying about the poor children at the fence with a parking lot on the other side. Why doesn’t take about 100 of those kids now. It’s there mess.

@cryptonym @UWmixradio @souljaboy All metaphors fail in some way. Here's another one: Bitcoin is tcp/ip, not AOL. We are used to things especially in tech slowly being made obsolete by newer, better stuff. You don't want that with money for a lot of reasons.
