@AdamSinger AOL was polite compared to the free for all, Yahoo! Groups. Here's the thing, even though you had to **** through far more garbage, Yahoo was far more useful as long as you remembered the rule: don't feed the trolls.

@RAFAELA_RIGO_ he's dead now, George Norey (probably seen him on UFO docs) took over years ago and ruined the show. i use to listen to that every night midnight-6am while hacking away on AOL. I'm telling you, it's the top of the hill if you're going down the rabbit hole.

@DodorododoTv @vodafone_de The worst internet experience I have ever had. I think AOL 20 years ago over my phone line was more consistent than Vodafone has been in the 3 years since I moved here. I’d recommend AOL 56k dialup over this joke of a company 👌🏼

@NeelBhula Lemme see, I started out on: Local BBs>Prodigy>Compuserve>MSN>AOL>Yahoo! Groups>SiliconInvestor>Bitcoin Forum>Reddit>FaceBook>Twitter>??? I do know what it feels like to be talking to a mostly empty room with no one left but the trolls. Only here for CT & FinTwit PolTwit sucks

@LouisatheLast Hmmm, I think I was in MSN roleplaying chats first... though not till early 2000s I think. I definitely didn't start until I was like 12 so it couldn't have been in the 90s. I moved to AOL after MSN started shutting down their chatrooms though.

@mtracey You absolutely can. Ask AOL and MySpace. There are viable alternatives already, they just have not been marketed properly to the masses. I have never bought anything from Amazon and no longer use Google at all.

@RealOGAnonymous Wow, what an awful platform. I'm surprised MAGAts manage to navigate it. I mean honestly AOL chat room were more user friendly.
