And for what? "Web 2.0"? I swear we're already at 3.0! Never should have neglected MySpace. Never should have left Yahoo. Never should have put AOL as a relic to the past. Google failing on that should have been a sign!

@cjwich @benconomics @ash_craig I never even knew Geocities was around in 1994 (Nov) to be exact. All I remember was the mailed AOL discs and the start of the internet for the masses….But, to be fair I was at sea on a US Navy ship during most of 94&95 so real world stuff was slow to catch-up.

@ConceptualJames In a few years, they'll be irrelevant. Lawmakers last figured out regulation for AOL and the like (section 230). They never moved fast enough for gen 2 or gen 3 internet. Gen 4 will blow your mind. Pretty soon the only way to even stop it will be to cut the wires.

@AOLSupportHelp It's really frustrating trying to get any help from your AOL UK support team. I have two AOL email accounts that have been hijacked by hackers and it's been a nightmare trying to get someone to help. Unbelievable!!

@kanovimack Turner killed WCW. AOL didn't know what to do with it, let alone internet service. Highly recommend "Nitro" by Guy Evans. It really highlights that even had WCW succeeded, it was doomed to fail by execs. It was always going to be a 0 sum Endgame.
