@zoolegs 1. Told someone I was from Michigan and that the weather here was nice. 2. Called someone an *******. Both times I tried to lie and tell my grandma I didn't do it and both times AOL ratted me out with the receipts.

Do folks remember when your choices for accessing information on the internet were AOL and Compuserve, where you could only see any internet content they approved? But then this weird free, open protocol won out called Knowing the origins can help keep us from regressing!

@larrykim did AOL = "the internet" in '96? I seem to remember (help me...) one more step to go out to The Internet. And being frustrated you couldn't search The Internet for content as easily as you could back in that AOL garden.
