Here's the thing: AOL could have fixed this issue *the entire time* by patching aolrich.dll, which was responsible for, among other things, HTML rendering in the AOL client.

@pradaliko Same. I've used the same password since my very first AoL account decades ago. It's a great one too that I've never worried about someone figuring out.

When the #Dreamcast released… - online gaming was a novelty exclusive to PC - the best selling console of all time was the PS1 - Quake 2 was the biggest online tournament you could play - the biggest online service was AOL - New York’s World Trade Centre was still standing

This fud reminds me of 9th grade early 2000s AOL instant messenger beef. "Guys get on AOL so and so said this!" This **** is mad funny

  • bostonwriter BostonWriter (@bostonwriter) reported

The Dixie Chicks and John Stewart are trending. Now I want to listen to CDs and hang out on an AOL chatroom.

  • MikeBradleyMKE Michael Bradley (@MikeBradleyMKE) reported

My 2 cents on Facebook's massive sell-off today is that their algorithm sucks... it elevates comments based on the most views & interactions, positive or negative. And it's gummed up with ads. Having lived to watch the end of AOL, myspace, and others, it's on the same track.

@Alfie1503 @LochNessDrogba6 never mind then get down to the AoL and refuse to leave until you’re put in charge

  • philostopher666 Quentin deNameland (@philostopher666) reported

@Swoopy @Freeyourmindkid @BarackObama He was against the Time Warner/AOL merger, and often argued the media was becoming too consolidated. Anybody want to guess why a room full of people were cheering, but you only ever heard him, on every broadcast network, which made him sound crazy?
