@modernistwitch Yup. My brother would often dial into AOL via different access #’s (hoping for a faster connection). He didn’t know you could get charged for a toll call, even with the same area code. The bill was over $1k one month! Never saw my father so angry. (And he was perpetually angry!)

@JeffBezos @JeffBezos On the other hand, there's a fine line between "self-made" and "fluke". Like, in terms of timeline, you did arrive on the scene around the time dialups like AOL were fading out and online shopping was arriving on the scene to help fill the 'dialup frustration gap'.

@BryanShephard2 It is all set now!! They hacked my email and aol has this stupid loophole that allowed them to keep doing it over and over. I guess that will teach me to keep aol! The good thing is I've had texts & calls from people I haven't heard from in a long time... Mike, Derek, etc.
