.darnstadium. (@darnstadium) reportedI once (!) recovered a broken Sony Vaio from the AOL era, by manually rebalancing the cells to 3.5V It did actually run, astonishingly. Cells were above the safe minimum but just barely (2.41V, 2.62V and 2.29V) so at least it was possible to test. HDD was fried, screen bad etc.
