@crissles I'm sad that @KidFury never got to experience the blackplanet 12 at MDCC in '00 but he, like me, will get over that after quick after you have to explain to 3 grill fronts how to add the Bone Thug "Change The World" song to their page, while praying my AOL m4m chat dont popoff.

@AOL is the worst internet provider and email service! That’s exactly why they are going out of business. They wont let me acquire an email that I have not used in years (which happens to be the same email for my IG). DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!

@AOL your news updates ******* suck and are full of ****. I’m kinda embarrassed to even tweet at AOL in 2020 so shame on me.

@cvspharmacy you have the ability to make 2020 less awful, get rid of the car-length long receipts. We all have email, even “Karen” has @aol #cvsreceipts

@BabaYehgar It has since at least MySpace. That was the main place I got exposed to really dumb people on the internet. AOL chat rooms used to be bad too, but Twitter, Facebook, Youtube & Instagram are filled with dumb humans with keyboards.

Marcus Lovato (@Bowtie_Marcus) reported
@JessBrohard Ya I’d get the AOL CDs in the mail and would hog the phone with my dial up service
-
ultralaser (@seandehey) reported
i mean, even the first iphone predated *data plans* this was back in 07 when getting on the internet on your phone was the same as getting on AOL, it took forever to download anything and you were literally paying by the megabyte, so most people just never used that service
-
Chris Hodges (@TheChiScroller) reported
@stevehillwriter AOL used to be so legendary about how hard they made it to cancel their service that people would just change their payment method to a credit card that was about to expire because that was literally the easiest way to do it.
-
Freitalisa (@freitalisa) reported
@AOL y'all really have my 80 year old mom in the phone trying to sell her a "security plan" when a hacker got in to her email, changed her info, had her SS, and bought something - that's your only plan to help her with this situation?? #wack

Ben Dreyfuss (@bendreyfuss) reported
In the late 90s when people had questions they had to write them down on pieces of paper, put the paper in their wallet, go home, log onto AOL, find the paper, and then ask Jeeves. And he was very often wrong!!!

Chris Hodges (@TheChiScroller) reported
Has any company ever gaslighted millions of people as well as AOL did? They had most of us believing that you NEEDED their service to connect to the internet, or that AOL just WAS the internet. I remember being so confused by "web browsers" for the longest time because of that.
