Never owned a waterbed, but I have slept on one before. Despised AOL back in the day, but I do have an AOL email address today, that I use for junk email. Other that that, All of them.

@RossKneeDeep 18 of 20. Never used AOL because I had a university-provided internet account. My landlord forbade waterbeds. I also used and still use a notepad made of paper.

When I started Curse in 2004, I was just couch surfing at friendsโ€™ houses. I didnโ€™t know how to code, and I had no money. I found two engineers online in IRC chat rooms (pre-Discord), and on MSN/AOL Messenger. When things started working, moving to SF was the best decision. My ambitions 10xโ€™d, I found an incredible peer network, and access to capital became much easier. You donโ€™t need to be in SF to start, but it makes everything easier if you can be here. A lot of people canโ€™t afford it or donโ€™t have visas, thatโ€™s why we expanded our programs online for the first time with Canopy. I do want you to move to SF, but you can absolutely do it once you already have something going. Nothing is stopping you from building online, itโ€™s actually easier than ever, especially with Twitter.

@ThrillaRilla369 My first was AOL, which i had before the web. Yep, pre-web internet was all the rage back then. I had a dial-up, 1300 baud rate modem. Ask @Grok how ancient and slow a 1300 baud rate dial up modem is! Criminy!

@itsKARY_ Those days when we used our slow *** phone lines for AOL and if someone picked up the phone to dial out it dropped your internet connection ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Hard to believe I first published on the internet 30 years ago โ€“ a "home page" on my AOL webspace. Wish I could somehow dig up that review I wrote for that Toadies album or the essay on how the worst thing a person could do is key someone's car.
