@GreenShades9 @CNN They wanted to create an ad platform like Google. But it never happened. The interactions with AOL/Yahoo! are low quality i guess.

  • DowserDave Dave Bowes (@DowserDave) reported

Verizon is selling AOL and Yahoo for 5 billion. Since the market is open, wondering if any one has a few bill for this broken corkscrew and ball of rubber bands I found in the kitchen drawer. #swampland #brooklynbridge #tothemoon

  • KidKotok Steven Kotok (@KidKotok) reported

@rafat not even worst acquisition of all time involving AOL

  • psykomantis 🏴‍☠️Psyko-M1💩 (@psykomantis) reported

@neednewshorts There was less noise on the wire. I miss the simplistic times where stupid people were corralled to AOL, and the decent/intelligent individuals were free to roam without restriction and play glorious games together.

  • JoeFallon JoeFallon (@JoeFallon) reported

@disclosetv Facebook is still a thing? I thought it was doing the AOL, Geocities, and MySpace slow decline.

  • SirWill 🇺🇸 Will ©️ (@SirWill) reported

@serendipitidoda yahoo started as a search engine if I recall. For some reason my email box over there never really was used. But yet I have gmail. I suspect Yahoo still has more value than AOL.

  • TMFOtter Bill Mann (@TMFOtter) reported

With the news that Verizon $VZ is selling AOL & Yahoo at a fraction of their acquisition cost, people are wondering whether it's the worst acquisition of all time. Oh no no no no no. Not even close. Here are two that are much, much worse. (1/3)

  • Cokedupoptions John W. Rich (Fake Tech Exec) (@Cokedupoptions) reported

In 2001, I bought a majority stake in AOL for $212 billion. In 2020, I sold that stake for $5 billion, a 97% net loss. I wrote that loss off, ensuring I never have to pay taxes again and also received a $300 billion bailout from the government. Patience pays off.

  • EricksonRevell Erickson Revell (@EricksonRevell) reported

Hey Verizon... I dont care what you do with Yahoo, but I still primarily use my .aol email address that I've had since the AOL disc came in the mail in 1995ish, So yeah dont **** with it.
