Adulting department, successful. Cancelled an email account from an old ISP that I hadn’t been on in (several? Many?) years. Sorry to those 20k plus emails that are never getting read. Goes to the graveyard in the ether, along with my AOL account.

  • AlanModracek Alan Modracek (@AlanModracek) reported from Closter, New Jersey

@cjane87 I keep putting the emails in the spam folder, but the filter keeps putting the new ones in my inbox. Maybe AOL just sucks? Everything else I only have to flag once or twice, though.

  • Daniel_Guiney Daniel (@Daniel_Guiney) reported from Valhalla, New York

If you guess your aol password incorrectly three times it locks you out for 12 hours. No customer service override. This is not how you provide customer satisfaction an why I moved to Gmail 😂

  • nolastevedore nolastevedore (@nolastevedore) reported

@rschmied I’m getting the AOL/Time Warner merger vibe from the Musk and $TWTR affair If you recall, AOL/Time Warner marked the top of the Dotcom bubble I hope the Fed wakes ******** up when they are seeing the fake wealth they've created for gamblers instead of savers & prudent investors

  • JamesSager www.goodnewsjim.com Jesus loves you. (@JamesSager) reported

God knows you have money and talent to fix it easily, so why has it taken you decades to catch up with retroactively securing your OS to the Internet. Yes, your OS was designed before the Internet, but you could have easily done this in 1994 & AOL eras.

  • rich_halvey Rich Halvey (@rich_halvey) reported

@RayLorettoJr Sad story. I was an early adopter of AOL. They offered $10,000 in shares before the IPO. I asked professional investors. They all said bad idea. So I passed. When AOL merged with Time-Warner, that $10K would have been worth $3 million. Big wins come when you see what others don't

  • SFLApodcast Starfleet Leadership Academy (@SFLApodcast) reported

@proverbialcat @straczynski He was a real pioneer in that space. AOL chats and stuff like that became more commonplace after that, but at this point, I don’t remember a lot of direct contact with network creators online

  • ebplais your buddy eric 🍶 (@ebplais) reported

@JaneOst_ the last time I ever used AOL messenger I was talking to someone who had a quote in his profile that said “GO BIG”, so I asked him about it and he said his brother always said it so I replied “lol” and he then said “HE’S DEAD” I felt so bad that I never used the app again

  • medotrev72 MedoTrev72 (@medotrev72) reported

@pommy_uk Terra Luna....the Eth Killa!! Eth has now become the new AOL....old, broken and can you hear the old modem tone!?!? That's a security risk!! Lol
