    You youngins won't get this but a lot of times I wish twitter was like the old AOL chatrooms of the mid 90's where you could pick your topic of what you wanted to enter and not have all the other crap show up !!

    @ashcIouds @daintyvioIet I'm 33 and people were doing this shit when I was 15ish through AOL and different chat rooms. It didnt just start happening now.

    In high school, I had an AOL account, used it a LOT. When I got Gmail, I stopped using my AOL account. Apparently, AOL deactivated the account, and ALL the stupid stuff I wrote, all the emails with friends, all the AIM chats are now evaporated into the ether.

    (I say this as a person who was a kid on the internet in the 90s and had WAAAAY too many adult men trying to have inappropriate convos with me on AOL, etc. This **** happens, it sucks, and the internet is no different now that it was then in this regard)

    @bleakhousing @cynthiasaysboo @kairyssdal His name is Elwood Edwards. I don't know if he was ever really down and out, but I know that for awhile he had a website where you could pay and he'd record stuff in the AOL voice (though he had some "no-go" rules). I don't think he does it anymore.
