@agraybee i have been aware of magic internet money for a very long time and i have not seen any use case that other stuff couldn't do better, AOL could have been better but it provided a service that people liked and some people have nostalgia for

@BrainOrigami @paulkrugman It looks stupid with 20/20 hindsight, but in 1998 ~half of all homes w/internet access were using AOL to get it and we were 9 years away from the first iPhone.

Man, it must be dumping in Durango right now. I'm back in AOL mode on my computer right now. Why do we need 5G? Because satellites just don't work in bad weather even for 2G.

@peacefuldiana79 Damn, those were the DAYS! That AOL dial-up. Getting disconnected when someone picked up the phone to use it. Before cell phones really existed. Bring. Me. Back.

@CallsignBarbie 15yrs ago my turf with my friends was AOL instant messenger. If my CG wasthere it would be weird. The Army doesn’t need a presence everywhere. We are getting to the point where physical presence is being replaced. My last cdr shut down email M-W & we went Face2Face to show & do.
