@TaelurAlexis Lots! I have 33 years of programming experience. I’ve worked for companies like WorPerfect and AOL, yet I’ve been forced to answer lame questions that I would be capable of solving (given time) in the real world. Knowing shit off the top of your head doesn’t mean you’re smart.

@redphase @Techmeme AOL did this back then, and I believe got in trouble with the SEC after the fact. (Hazy on that) But now it’s ok bc the SEC is feckless

@aolmail Hi there. My spam folder is constantly getting clogged up with mail that is VERY obviously not legit. 22 emails in less than 2 hours and this is becoming the norm. Have you relaxed your spam filters because I’ve never had this much blatant spam making it through?

I guess the ways that feel natural to communicate will often be the ways provided by whatever you’re using as a social platform. Email may never be that again. I’m not nostalgic for it. Thinking back on chatting via email doesn’t even make sense to me without the context of AOL.

@aceboogie_11 @RamKaY_ @aaronrift 2 years later wouldn't have made sense. There wouldn't have been a WCW/ECW to invade WWF. The issue was that after Turner got bought out the top guys' contracts were with AOL/Time Warner rather than WCW so Vince couldn't get them for pennies on the dollar like he did the company.
