    @redphase @Techmeme AOL did this back then, and I believe got in trouble with the SEC after the fact. (Hazy on that) But now itโ€™s ok bc the SEC is feckless

    @TaelurAlexis Lots! I have 33 years of programming experience. Iโ€™ve worked for companies like WorPerfect and AOL, yet Iโ€™ve been forced to answer lame questions that I would be capable of solving (given time) in the real world. Knowing shit off the top of your head doesnโ€™t mean youโ€™re smart.

    @ChiefAgenteer @GaryMarcus Malfunctions is more accurate. But again, how much liability should the AI company have? Should the Internet Service Provider be responsible for the behavior of every user? How is OpenAI different from ISPs like AOL?

    @misfitpatriot_ Crazy to hear them say investigate first and then immediately follow it with drop out of the race. Seems like they know something the public may not know yet. I canโ€™t seem to remember what AOL says when you shut it downโ€ฆ. Hmmmm

    @GetSpectrum HAS BEEN FLOODING THE MAIL AND HAS TEENAGERS GO DOOR TO DOOR TRYING TO PUSH THEIR INTERNET SERVICES. I'M IN NEENAH, WI, AND HAVE SEEN WHAT SPECTRUM IS LIKE. IT'S REMINISCENT OF THE ORIGINAL CABLE SERVICES FROM THE EARLY 1990S, BUT NEVER CHANGED ANY OF THEIR EQUIPMENT OR HEADEND. IT IS EXTREMELY QUIRKY AND TELEVISIONS WITH THEIR CABLE ADAPTORS TEND TO ASSUME A LIFE OF THEIR OWN, AND THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO UNPLUG EVERYTHING AND REPLUG FOLLOWED BY AN HOUR OR SO CUSSING AT IT UNTIL IT KIND OF WORKS AGAIN. IT'S LIKE HAVING AOL DIAL-UP WITHOUT THE GOOSE HONKING MODEM! THE TV GUIDE THEY FORCE YOU TO USE IS MADE "BY MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY INC"! THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT THERE ARE ABOUT 3 FIBER INTERNET PROVIDERS AVAILABLE AND MANY CHOICES FOR PROGRAMMING PROVIDERS YOU SELECT ON YOUR OWN! SO THERE ISN'T A DAY THAT GOES BY WHERE AT LEAST ONE OF US DOESN'T GET MAIL FROM SPECTRUM, BUT ALSO THE LAST 4 FAMILIES THAT LIVED HERE AND ONE OF THOSE PASSED AWAY 6 YEARS AGO! I UNDERSTAND SPECTRUM WANTING CUSTOMERS, BUT YOU HAVE TO FIRST LET GO OF THE 1990S! DIG IT?

    @TheGoldenDays 90s, AOL. 2000s, Yahoo messenger was the ****. It actually had media built into it. I could watch music videos and listen to music, use it to send MS paint pictures, and lots of other stuff
