@fartelengelbert @RichardGJP @nadinecarroll @ClaireBerlinski I know you are an important guy and all Englebert and I assume really smart too. But the moron uses an unsecure cell phone. I have no care about what this idiot puts in writing in his AOL account. He hands pretty much everything off to his pals in Eastern Europe and Saudi anyway.

Portable No to Joe Parrot $8 (@MilosParrots) reported
@still_pig NEVER FORGET! that "Social" media has never been anything more than gussied up versions of the old AOL Hub chatrooms that Mark, and Jack, and Elon, and The Chinese Communist Party realized they could make some serious capitalistic what the market will bear cash off of.

Justin Joque (@jjoque) reported
@mattyglesias That is true, but it is also true that if the music stops playing here for more than a week or two while that is all happening (e.g. outages, bad moderation, glitches, etc.) and people start leaving it turns into a ghost town faster than an aol chat room.

@GetSpectrum BEWARE…. Their product is horrible. Their tech support is worthless. It’s simply all around a inferior product. You remember AOL? It’s similar.

@chairmanmao74 I'd say check back in a year but Twitter will be a zombie brand like AOL or Myspace by then, just a site that aggregates entertainment news or some such garbage.

@IanDunt I said all the above about AOL. And AOL still closed down its message boards. And 20 years later here I am. It's nonsense that things are irreplaceable.

Growing up, I tried to use aol and MSN to talk with friends but I could never get used to it. Twitter has been the most talkative I've been and I hate that this is happening. Long story short, if I add you on discord and disappear for months/years, I still think of you fondly

@figgityfigs I keep thinking that it may not exist as a product/service, but it could be like AOL & Yahoo!, hanging around as brands that are “ready to make a comeback” long past their expiration date.
