Oh yes, and back in the waaaay old days (like 1994) internet services (or their closed-circuit predecessors like Prodigy, AOL, and Compuserve) charged BY THe HOUR for service. Think about how many people would stay off the internet if that were the truth today!

@ZucchiniBikini 4 - never had a boom box, AOL, Myspace, or internet by dial up. Used a typewriter? I learnt touch typing at high school on a manual upright in a class with women who were intending to be secretaries. My son's friends considered this a very useful skill to learn in school.

@NeuroPoetica Hmm I get 4, but am pretty sure I'm older than you. I've never used a walkman, boombox, MySpace, or AOL. Surely you've never had an AOL email? Isn't it purely American?
