Oh yes, and back in the waaaay old days (like 1994) internet services (or their closed-circuit predecessors like Prodigy, AOL, and Compuserve) charged BY THe HOUR for service. Think about how many people would stay off the internet if that were the truth today!

@FaceLikeTheSun Internet was really still in it's infanacy at that time too. I still had AOL Dial-Up. Getting on PC wasn't a priority at that time, it was slow & frustrating & definitely wasn't getting on to look up news.

@AOLSupportHelp For some reason my android phone has stopped receiving emails. I can see them on my ipad so I don't think there's a problem with my account. Any idea how to rectify this? Thank you.

If I was AOL, I'd say **** it and start mailing people free trial cd's again with "what ******** are you going to do about it?" written on them.

@apiary Parents: "Wow! You figured out computer networking!" Me: if I can make AOL in the living room dial on network activity + a dial tone I don't have to check if someone's using the phone or go in there (I could go on, but...)
