After much mediation and soul searching, I figured out what my New Years resolution for online stuff is... get better at replying to messages on Twitter, Instagram and Discord. I have not seen so many messages not replied to since I checked my AOL in 10th grade...7k email!

These kids today will never understand what it feels like to be excited to download your music from Limewire, all to hear “AOL Music” or “Black and beats vibe baby” before each song — you didn’t care cause it was free and still blasted on repeat!

@PaulRiz504 @sama This a dumb take. Tech has a trajectory that can’t be stopped, good or bad. How the hell does it take away anything from STEM? Such a boomer, get off my lawn and still using AOL comment.

Garland and his civil (not criminal) suit against Google isn't anything that all websites haven't taken advantage of over the years. I ignore consumer ads, and prefer their search engine/news. Bing, Ask, Yahoo, AOL, Ducks, and the other search/new engines = awful.

Those that watch @scrowder talk about his contract for his show, you should all know, this is just the tip of the iceberg. It’s one of the main reasons I’m at the America Out Loud network, and not aligned elsewhere. There is none of this type of tomfoolery with AOL.

How pathetic is it that it was easier for me to have social interaction that was fruitful and interesting that required less effort in the late 90's on websites like AOL or on a yahoo chatroom than this modern social media website? I didn't have any such issues on anything else.

It’s peculiar to me how few ppl consider the possibility that NFTs are here to stay, bored apes will never go to 0, but they’ve already experienced their peak euphoria. There is literally a direct analog to this outcome in the history of AOL and the early internet.

@bobdaduck @0x49fa98 @VDAREJamesK Tried it. Prefer Qwant, but both have problems. With a sniff of effort Bing could be in play, but they seem obsessed with recreating AOL.
