@PhillyMike My best friend worked in one of the towers. Luckily he went to work later than most people. There was no cell service that day so the only way to finally communicate with him was via AOL IM lol

I still have an @AOL email address and my account has been hijacked. This is because @AOL would not let me change my password months ago when I found out that it was compromised. Good way to support your customers @AOL.

@GeorgeC1953 @realtradingpost @Gekko1955 AOL Instant Messenger wasn’t a bad place to meet people. Same with Yahoo Chat. I remember the library had a paper “phone book” you could use to look up websites. Almost like a yellow pages. Times have changed.
