After much mediation and soul searching, I figured out what my New Years resolution for online stuff is... get better at replying to messages on Twitter, Instagram and Discord. I have not seen so many messages not replied to since I checked my AOL in 10th grade...7k email!

  • jeffreywuhl Jeffrey Wuhl (@jeffreywuhl) reported from West Conshohocken, Pennsylvania

@PhillyMike My best friend worked in one of the towers. Luckily he went to work later than most people. There was no cell service that day so the only way to finally communicate with him was via AOL IM lol

@persian_pain I did that **** in my AOL days. I was also like 15.

  • ThePokeWaifu ɢᴀʀᴅᴇᴠᴏɪʀ (@ThePokeWaifu) reported

-USE YOUR PHONE NUMBER. It’ll help not getting your account nuked by bots. trust me on this. As well as Gmail. Twitter doesn’t look too kindly on yahoo or AOL. Twitter allows outlook as well. But good god switching is a lot of work.

  • AnonymousRoxtar Anonymous Roxtar (@AnonymousRoxtar) reported

@ahcastor @JorgeStolfi LOL! The co-author of Mosaic, the first widely used web browser; co-founder of Netscape who then sold it to AOL in 1999 for $4.5 Billion is wealthy. Andreesen was a multi billionaire by the early 2000s. I never knew Netscape was fraudulent! This is desperate.

  • denormative Pato (@denormative) reported

@Gaijinotousan Fax machines and telegrams are often referenced in legal documents, so they have an unfortunate use and necessity for some people. They're annoying but tolerable. Last time I checked, there were, however, people still subscribed to AOL using dialup. This seems a worse problem.

  • Erock54 Eric (@Erock54) reported

@Sharkguy726 I remember when aol was the only way to get online and i changed the area code to log on bc the other one was a constant busy signal. My dad got a bill for 250 for long distance calls. I was in trouble hahha

  • dwreckBTW d wreck (@dwreckBTW) reported

@Alchemister5 Old cs is 1.3-1.5 for me. I remember trying to get **** to work with AOL dial up and being very frustrated as a kid.

  • tupleswrites tuples 🦌🐈🦚•🌹🐍•🍵🌸 (@tupleswrites) reported

Jinmi might be one of the worst main characters I've ever encountered in media and I really just think that that AOL could have been written differently. Or is it because I come from a different background and culture that I have this loathing for Jinmi and Xufeng?

  • DrDronezChannel 💜💜Dronez 💜💜 (@DrDronezChannel) reported

@subvegio Definitely learned more in my 2.5 years at AOL than I think I would have in High School. No regrets. Oh, and I was getting paid pretty damn good, had stock options, 401k, health, vision, dental, and a discounted cell phone back when most HS'ers still had pagers.

  • AnonWisdom Ced Truz - America wake up! (@AnonWisdom) reported

@katwoman_9292 @KizzyMae1969 @ElectionWiz Weird, I’ve managed to never run across it, and I’ve been downloading porn since the days of dialup AOL disks that came in the mail 🤷🏼

  • davidcbaker David C. Baker (@davidcbaker) reported

To cut down on nonsense signups, my website no longer accepts email signups from aol, gmail, &c; in other words, only business email addresses. We'll see how many unintended consequences I haven't thought of.
