@aboodman Some of the real pioneers on this were at a company called iAmaze which was acquired by AOL in 2000. They became the AOL Dynamic Interface Group which built "dynamic web" versions of a bunch of AOL products like AIM and AOL Mail. Sadly, they never got traction at AOL...

@michaelpatron0 If you used @aol.com you wouldn't have this problem

@Microsoft ******* for trying to have an outlook or hotmail account huh? Like yours is the only domain that constantly locks me out of mailboxes when I’ve verified alt emails and text then they just lock it again. **** off I guess aol and yahoo it is.

@mentorafrika Could also just be a flashback, seeing how AOL was, in and of itself, a bad trip for everybody :-)

@TylerAskins2 @AOL My parents never let me have aim bc they didn’t want me talking to strangers 🥲😖

@PsychopathBtc @stephanlivera I don’t think comparing a payments network to AOL is particularly useful. There are better payment networks now I use instead of LN. I don’t think it has come a long way, unfortunately. It’s ok, I’ve no real use for it. Main chain payments have many advantages for me.

Ever come across someone with an aol email address, and you can’t help but picture them in 2022 logging in with a 56k modem, hearing all the sounds of connecting, and then “you’ve got mail”?
