@StacheAutonomy Yeah, AOL crap until around junior year. I got my own computer the fall of my junior year. Mostly access to a certain type of content had an effect.

We already had Eliza like 40 years ago. We already had AoL chatbots. We know how and why people use this kind of chatbot ****, what its limitations are vis-a-vis human interaction, and what people get out of interacting with them. Chatgpt is slick, but it's not *new*.
