  • UncleWanKenobi Uncle Wan Kenobi ✨🎲🐉 (@UncleWanKenobi) reported

@candaceisageek I had this problem, their sign up process does not jive with my CFS brain at all. 😬 Short version, Servers don't really matter. It's like how you can have a gmail or yahoo or AOL email address: everyone can still talk to each other, the Server is just the @ part of the email.

  • LuluGoodnight Lauren Goodnight, M.Sc, D.*** (@LuluGoodnight) reported

.@AOL time to fire up AIM. Never have we needed those servers more.

  • BarryNorton Barry Norton (@BarryNorton) reported

@BookwormVaught I was never a Bebo user, but had an impression of it. Yeah, though, they sold it to AOL who sold it on to a hedge fund. Seriously, decentralisation is the only way I see out of this cycle.

  • DumboGOP It’s a Democracy and a Republic Dummy (@DumboGOP) reported

@profgalloway For sure, Musk for all his “genius” doesn’t seem to realize proud boys don’t buy Teslas and that is the just US. Then all tangles with foreign governments around twitter effecting his ability to sell cars overseas. This is Time warner AOL on steroids of a bad purchase.

  • hnterbidnmademe 🌊 Hunter Biden Made Me Do It(blue check)🏳️‍🌈 (@hnterbidnmademe) reported

In my day, we didn't have blue checks. We had Prodigy message boards and AOL. No one knew who ******** anyone was.

  • drea6969420 Andrea (@drea6969420) reported

@wjmaggos @lolennui @AOL genZ who grew up on the internet and i literally understand it all with no issues. i also know how to use newsgroups, usenet, etc so i guess im in a different league. it really seems tho that most these people in the thread just dont *want* to understand it lol

  • pressreset -.-. .... . . ... . -... ..- .-. --. . .-. (@pressreset) reported

Is it wrong I feel like Twitter totally burning down and turning into an irrelevant ghost town the likes of MySpace or AOL is a deserved end to a site that is such a mess? Dunno. I mean this place is a **** show and always has been. Remember how bad it was with orange guy around?

  • ErdrickStorm Tina (@ErdrickStorm) reported

@wjmaggos @lolennui @AOL GenX kid here. I wonder why we aren't all still using those wonderful systems. There was lots of fun stuff on AOL that the WWW never really replicated. I left it because it was too expensive not because I was some brave internet pioneer.
