@PhillyMike My best friend worked in one of the towers. Luckily he went to work later than most people. There was no cell service that day so the only way to finally communicate with him was via AOL IM lol

These kids today will never understand what it feels like to be excited to download your music from Limewire, all to hear “AOL Music” or “Black and beats vibe baby” before each song — you didn’t care cause it was free and still blasted on repeat!

@benedictevans Recall when AOL and Yahoo thought about integrating their messaging - they couldn't (at the time) afford big enough pipes to handle the bandwidth of just "online status" updates between the two systems. These are large scale issues, as you point out. This isn't just "make it so"

@apark2453 I've been dealing with "Terms of Service" since AOL was included on a free floppy disk taped to the front of magazines. I'm that old. I don't understand folks who pretend not to understand getting TOS'd.

@rumblevideo @RSBNetwork Not sure why you're crowing about this. It's not hard to crash some 8th rate "network" that only MAGAts have ever heard of. What a 3 bit operation like yours built on anyway? A few Pentium 486s running Win3.1 with an AOL dial-up backbone?

@HasLahlStopped @Advo_Katy AOL and chat rooms were popular but I could only be on the computer an hr a day unless I was doing a school project. I could only talk on the phone 10 min a day. **** by time internet connected I was about 15min into my computer time.

Have never used any social media for anything serious but then I grew up with AOL. Anything net related is purely for fun
