These kids today will never understand what it feels like to be excited to download your music from Limewire, all to hear “AOL Music” or “Black and beats vibe baby” before each song — you didn’t care cause it was free and still blasted on repeat!

AOL Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • Dajbman22 ((Bason Jerkstore)) (@Dajbman22) reported

@Phips__ @justinbaragona I mean it may hang on as a low-priority vestige like AOL or Yahoo, but that's not saying much. That's the best case longterm scenario for Twitter... worst case is becoming like Friendster, Xanga or Myspace.

  • monarchdiaries The Monarch Diaries (Hardcore) (@monarchdiaries) reported

@MassDara Twitter won't "die". It'll most likely circle the drain indefinitely, hemorrhaging interesting users and relevance. It will eventually become a walking dead concern, like AOL, MySpace, and (optimistically) Tumblr. There won't be a loss of service, just a slow depressing slide

  • neilkleid Neil Kleid (@neilkleid) reported

Let’s all just go back to AOL chat rooms Hang on. I can give you all these discs that came polybagged in copies of Wizard Magazine #TwitterDown

  • Cammiluna Cammi 💚 💥 (@Cammiluna) reported

@the_darai Even the mass migrations from yahoo messenger to aol messenger to skype to discord were all phased across and two of those services had shut down long after the migration was completed.

  • Sherry60504887 Sherry (@Sherry60504887) reported

@rj3000 DISCORD. AM not at home right now but tomorrow I plan on posting alternatives. Aol pulled this **** and it failed miserably a few years back.

  • TonyDaleTX Tony Dale🇺🇸 (@TonyDaleTX) reported

    @longhornderek Contact AOL customer support.

  • John_J_Morales John (@John_J_Morales) reported

@vianapolitano My main email is still AOL!! Probably bad for looking for a modern day job.

  • SecurityCatnip Michael is still fighting MS08-067 (@SecurityCatnip) reported

While I am unsure Twitter will vanish overnight, this does remind me of when CompuServe, GEnie, AOL, all shut down in the late 1990s. There is a genuine sadness here. Losing the capability to talk to people with whom we only enjoyed having conversations online -- forever. :(

  • hinapuff 柊奈 Hina ❤💛💚 (@hinapuff) reported

Others not in authority or who don't align with their worldview Uh ok **** NINTENDO ONLINE SERVICE. Biggest joke of an infrastructure, period. Pretty sure ******* AOL &yahoo are better than NSO 😑
