@benjedwards The first time I ever used the internet was at school in 1993, shortly after that I used AOL from time to time using their 800 number that charged by the minute because we had no local dial-up. In 1994, they finally had a local dial-up service.

@elonmusk @TrungTPhan Tiresome. Stop being such a bubble bs artist. Ultimately, I think you go down in history as a laughable bubble era meme and $TSLA flames out as an AOL.

@benjedwards I scammed AOL accounts using a CC generator (I was 11 and thought I was hot **** in the Warez chatrooms), until we got proper internet from a company that also ran video stores at the time.

@mearn Wait, oh my god, it's not from texting. They're using multi-decade-old slang from AOL chat rooms and parenting message boards and ****.

@benjedwards As a Commodore user, I used Quantum Link from late 1985 until it was shut down to make way for it's younger, bigger brother AOL. At the time It was a natural progression. Quantum Link doesn't count as Internet accessability AFAIK, but I do want to justify ever using AOL :)

@christoph_21 Never believe anything until you see them standing outside the AOL with the scarf above their head.
